Taylor Ryan | Founder of Klint Marketing

Introduction

Success leaves clues.

Finance Strategists sat down with Taylor Ryan, founder of Klint Marketing. He shared his thoughts on the past, present, and future of the company, as well as the insight he has gained from running the business.

Who is Taylor Ryan?

Q: Who are you and what’s your background?

A: I’m Taylor Ryan, a 6x start-up founder, angel investor, and international keynote speaker. I have over 14 years of experience with digital marketing, especially growth hacking, and over the past 5 years, I have built and ran the digital marketing departments of some of Denmark’s fastest-growing startups. Right now, I’m running my digital marketing agency, Klint.

Q: Who has been your biggest influence, and why did they have such a significant effect on you?

A: Although I think he can be a little controversial, I take a lot of inspiration from Gary Vaynerchuk. He’s a real pioneer in the startup space, in my opinion. For a daily dose of motivation, I’d say Zig Ziglar.

Q: Knowing what you know now, what would you have told yourself when you were just starting out?

A: That’s an easy one. I’d say “Buy bitcoin in 2013 and wait until 2021.” On a serious note, I’d tell myself to be patient. I used to get frustrated when deals didn’t go the way I wanted them to go. So in this business, you either learn to be patient or you’ll tear all your hair out.

Business

Q: What is Klint Marketing?

A: Klint Marketing is a digital marketing agency I started back in 2019. We are a small team of growth hackers who are passionate about marketing because we get to work with a lot of cool projects and companies!

Q: What makes Klint Marketing different from other digital marketing agencies?

A: We focus on building rapid growth through marketing automation for our customers, and we build a platform so that they can grow and scale on their own. I think that differentiates us a lot from other agencies that usually look for endless retention.

Q: What led you to start Klint Marketing?

A: My key driver was being my own boss and having the opportunity to work on the projects that I wanted. I love being challenged and being involved in a variety of different sectors, and this is the real draw of being an entrepreneur for me.

Q: What has the experience of building the business taught you?

A: I would say that learning to rely on others is one of the most important lessons that building a business and growing it taught me. As the company expands, I’m discovering that there’s simply too much work for me to handle on my own.

Q: Where do you see things headed for you in the next 5 years?

A: After the worst of COVID, our customer base is finally increasing in size. Our online presence has grown both locally and globally. More than half of our customers are from countries other than Denmark and business is looking very good overall lately. Also, we’re in the process of building our own marketing automation software, that might even develop into a business of its own. I see a lot of work in front of us, and honestly, I’m looking forward to diving into it.
